2009 Parade Home

The 2009 Parade Home won every award in the People’s Choice awards at the Parade of Homes, including Best Kitchen, Best Master, Best Outdoor Living, Best Overall Design, and Best Architectural Design. This Italian-style villa was inspired by the warmth and casual comfort of European Architecture. It is warm and inviting from its welcoming courtyard in the front to its spacious pool in back. The courtyard concept was taken a step further in the back of the home, which actually opens up to the golf course, providing both privacy and accompaniment with the outdoors at the same time. The home features a large game room with private poker room, interior rock and brick arch (a Jenkins trademark), state-of-the-art home theater, fabulous guest quarters, and lots of outdoor living.

These clients had built several homes before and were looking for “someone who listened to what they wanted and never got upset when things did not go exactly as planned”, in their own words. When they saw their Character Study for the first time, they couldn’t believe how close to perfect it was. Since the gentleman of the house is a trophy wild game hunter who has won the “Muy Grande” award several times, the Game Room was an important room for him. He wanted space for several game tables, including a pinball machine, and then space for a poker table and wet bar. We put the poker table in its own round room surrounded by stone. Then, we placed the dedicated Media Room just off the Game Room.
