Great Baths

Great Bathrooms are a sanctuary from the world and a place to find peace and quiet, even when the rest of our homes are bustling. At holiday times, especially, many of us have been known to take a long respite from the craziness of the season. So, it is especially important that the bathroom reflect the owner’s vision of calm and tranquility.

In this room, where high tech meets high style, it is the attention to detail that provides the perfect balance. From the curved columns and walls to the hand-painted barrel ceilings, the feeling is one of an exotic getaway. Yet concealed behind the vanity mirror is a TV/DVD, and hidden behind the wall separating the bath grotto is a computer display complete with waterproof keyboard for home shopping, email, or anything desired. The display can also serve as TV with DVD capability. In order to continue the theme of the home (the serenity of the lake), an artist was commissioned to create a tile mosaic over the tub which became the focal point of the room. Due to the proximity of the neighboring home and in order to maintain complete privacy, clerestory windows were used for natural light.

There is an interesting uniqueness in all of us which, when revealed during our Lifestyle Analysis interview, will show us whether a client wants large windows in the bathroom or not. Some of us can’t live without large windows in the bathroom, and some of us can’t stand them…and we each have our reasons. This highlights the importance to listening to each client’s likes and dislikes so that each Jenkins home is a true reflection of the client.
